Tethered Balloon Rides

A hot air balloon with a blue and white pattern is floating in a clear blue sky. Several people are on the ground watching and monitoring the balloon, which is tethered with ropes in a grassy area near residential buildings.

What is it?
A tethered balloon ride is securely tied to the ground with strong ropes, allowing vertical lift without drifting—perfect for large groups at events.

When are rides available?
Year-round, weather permitting. We fly only when winds are 8 mph or less, with no thunderstorms within 50 miles. The pilot makes the final weather call.

Best time to fly:
Within two hours of sunrise or sunset, when winds are calmest.

Duration:
Typical events last 2–3 hours. Minimum tether time is 2 hours; maximum is 4 hours. Times depend on daylight, fuel, and weather. Events may be shortened if necessary.

Flight height:
Usually between 25 and 75 feet, depending on wind, terrain, anchors, and passenger weight. Pilot decides exact height.

Passenger capacity:
4-6 people per flight (based on combined weight). The balloon can lift 50–75 passengers per hour during an event.

Who can participate?
Anyone in reasonable health who can climb in and out of the basket. All passengers (or guardians for minors) must sign a waiver. Pregnant women cannot fly. Basket is not wheelchair accessible. Pilot and crew may limit passengers for safety.

Space requirements:
A clear area of at least 150’ x 150’ (preferably 200’ diameter), free of trees, poles, power lines, and debris.

Anchor points:
Three heavy vehicles or similar sturdy anchors are needed to secure the balloon.
